The school year session operates from September (beginning the Tuesday after Labor Day) to mid-June. We offer Summer Camps during the summer for 3 year old's through 3th Grade. Ages 6 weeks to 24 months operate full time all year. We follow the Public Schools age cut off of September 30th.
Infant/Crawler
Waddler/Toddler
We offer full time childcare for ages 6 weeks through 24 months.
Our Infant and Toddler Program follows the FunShine Express (Lillio Learning) Curriculum, designed to create hands-on learning experiences that engage children's senses and connect key concepts to everyday play. Our teachers also introduce sign language, offering infants through toddlers (6-24 months) an early form of communication to support their development.
2 YEAR OLDS
Our 2-Year-Old Program combines our custom curriculum with the Frog Street Curriculum to create a foundation for learning. What may seem like playtime to children is actually structured learning. Through play centers, circle time, and social interaction, we encourage children to explore, discover, and grow in a supportive environment.
3 YEAR OLDS
Our 3-Year-Old Program incorporates the Learning A to Z Curriculum, Heggerty’s Phonemic Awareness Curriculum, and Scholastic Magazine to kickstart the academic journey. We focus on teaching through play, hands-on activities, arts and crafts, circle time, and experiments, all designed to spark curiosity and build a foundation for a lifelong love of learning. Children must be fully potty trained to join this program and must be 3 years old by September 30th to enroll.
4 YEAR OLDS
Our 4-Year-Old Program utilizes the Learning A to Z Curriculum, Heggerty’s Phonemic Awareness Curriculum, Science of Reading, and Scholastic Magazine. This program encourages students to learn through play, exploration, experiments, and social interaction in a center-based environment. Designed as a transitional Kindergarten setting, it prepares children for the next step in their academic journey. Children must be 4 years old by September 30th to enroll in this program.
KINDERGARTEN
Our Kindergarten program provides a small class environment where students benefit from one-on-one instruction, the freedom to ask questions, and the opportunity to explore while learning.
We follow the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL), ensuring students are fully prepared for their next school, whether public or private. The ESGI Assessment is used to tailor instruction and support each child’s individual learning needs throughout the year. Our curriculum includes Learning A to Z, Heggerty’s Phonemic Awareness, Science of Reading, and Scholastic Magazine.
Math is taught through hands-on manipulatives, daily practice, and interactive games, while handwriting skills are developed using Write the Room activities and Letter Formation practice.
Students also enjoy up to five field trips throughout the year.
To enroll in our Kindergarten program, your child must be 5 years old by September 30th.
BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL
Our Before and After School Care program provides a safe and structured environment where students can relax, socialize, and complete their homework. They can also participate in a variety of activities, including playground time, arts and crafts, games, and reading centers.
We also offer care on teacher workdays for an additional fee. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited.
Students attending Northern Shores Elementary can enroll in our Suffolk location’s before and after care program, with transportation provided by Suffolk Public Schools. For students from Creekside Elementary and Florence Bowser Elementary, transportation is available through the OLA bus or van. This program is available for children in Kindergarten through 3rd grade.
